YouthLaunch programs prepare young people for success in life by engaging them in long-term, meaningful service to the community.
YouthLaunch currently operates these programs:
- No Kidding: Straight Talk from Teen Parents, a peer education program in which teen parents encourage middle and high school students to delay becoming parents until later in life
- Youth Partnership for Change, a program designed to empower young people
to take a leadership role in educating peers, parents, and community members
on the dangers and consequences of underage alcohol use. YPC also seeks to
increase the awareness in Central Texas of underage drinking laws and the
mental and physical effects that result from underage alcohol use.
- YouthLaunch Scholarship for Outstanding Service, a competitive annual scholarship program that honors three Texas high school seniors with $3,000 scholarships for outstanding community service
- Urban Roots, a youth development
program that uses sustainable agriculture as means to transform the lives of young people and increase the access of healthy food
in Austin. On a 3.5 acre urban farm, our project brings together Austin
youth ages 14-17 from diverse backgrounds to grow food, to serve people in
need, and to gain valuable life, job, and leadership skills.
